As of July 10, the International Security Ligue is officially represented on the technical committee (TC292) of the International Standards Organization (ISO) that works on standardization in the field of security and includes members from 60 nations.

As a member of ISO TC292 (Working Groups 6and 7), the Ligue will take part in a committee that is constantly working on various projects within the areas of security and resilience with a mission to produce high quality standards to support nations, societies, industry, organizations, and people in general.

“As an association of global industry leaders in Physical Security Services, we recognize the need for practical and adaptable standards that evolve with industry needs and ensure customer protection,” said Stefan Huber, the Ligue’s Director General and its representative on ISO TC292.

“Standards should drive innovation and efficiency without increasing bureaucracy within companies, while continuously enhancing quality for customers.” — Stefan Huber

Standards have a significant role to play in an increasingly complex world, where threats and risks cross national and state borders, and physical security intertwines with fast-developing technology, cybersecurity, AI, and cloud-based data management. It is crucial that common standards are followed worldwide to catalyze transparency, compliance, and risk mitigation, and to fight corruption.

“Our focus is on influencing standards that truly matter and drive significant improvements,” said Huber. “ISO standards, with their flexible and less binding character, are ideal for fostering international collaboration and ensuring broad compliance without stifling creativity. Additionally, we must engage with EN and national standards that align closely with our strategic goals and offer specific benefits.”
