Critical Infrastructure

The International Security Ligue was represented at the State of Security Conference at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, a high-profile and important industry event.

The conference focus was on readying to implement the 'Critical Infrastructure'- umbrella-law (as it is also implemented across Europe), and the current status quo, examined from political and entrepreneurial perspectives, followed by a panel discussion. The topics of 'Critical Infrastructure' and cybersecurity were also intensively discussed, making it clear that it is no longer possible to conceive of one without the other.

Stefan Huber, Director General of the Ligue, summarized his takeaways: “It is especially important to prioritize quality and high standards when selecting companies. Compliance and risk minimization are ensured through the choice of competent companies.

While the price plays a role in the selection process, it should not be the main component, particularly in the 'Critical Infrastructure' sector and public domain.

It is difficult to envision comprehensive protection against potential dangers and their combinations. Laws, guidelines, and their implementation are important foundations, but execution through competent collaboration between politicians, public, and private organizations is equally important. What strengthens protection above all is the training and increasing the resilience and robustness of the protectors.”

Highlighted at the conference was the white paper, Cyber-Physical Security and Critical Infrastructure 'mentioned at the security conference, developed in collaboration between the International Security Ligue and CoESS (Confederation of European Security Services). The white paper is available for free download and without registration from our Library.
